Very relaxing. Booked a private onsen room and half board. Definitely a nice break from travelling in bigger cities. Rented bikes right next door and biked around the entire lake. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again.

Highlight of our trip to Japan

A must to experience Japan is to stay at a traditional Japanese Inn, or Ryokan. Hotel Konansou blends the traditional inn with hot springs, tatami grass cloth floors, and incredible Kaiseki gourmet in room dinners. A great place to stay.

Surprisingly comfortable

Hotel provides free shuttle service to the main train station. We had the room with lake view and it is good. Even though the traditional japanese room had futons instead of bedding, they are surprisingly comfortable and we had a good night rest. Amenities were also great

The staff is excellent, facilities excellent, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was supreme but unfortunately we were not able to reserve dinner during our stay. The local food options are a bit limited after 5 pm so be aware that your walking food options are small

Didnt have the dinner plan option when I made reservations and cannot reserve dinner when arrive because there were no more opening. Roaming around was easy, the property was spacious , clean, and pretty. Check out time was a little too early (10am) compare to other hotels, wish it was later so can have more time to enjoy the facilities more. It was good but not the best.

Stayed 2 nights with family of 3 in large japanese room. Very spacious and clean. Nice lake view. Love this ryokan with very grand yet traditional feel. Love the indoor onsen with Mt Fuji view. It has 1big pool, 1jacuzzi, and 4 individual pools. The outdoor onsen water is not hot enough though. It has nice resting area and 2 massage chairs in another room to relax. Offer free ice cream too! The bkf is buffet style with wide selection of food. Dinner is Keiseki with very well spread and high quality. This ryokan is also well located and close proximity to ropeway and many souvenir shops and eateries. Well recommended

LOVED this place and our experience. We stayed in the traditional ryoken room with Mt. Fuji view and personal onsen and it was totally worth the money. We lucked out and had clear skies for one of the days so we could see fuji clearly while laying in our personal tub. We had kaiseki for two nights and everything was so beautifully laid out. The menu was different both nights and the service was amazing! For breakfast, there's a buffet with different types of foods for all palettes. The customer service at the front desk was amazing. They're so kind and super helpful. They helped us book shuttles back to Tokyo, called taxis for us, taught us how to use the local bus, and recommended places for us to visit. Across the street is Lake Kawaguchi and there's a convenient store right next door. Also if you're staying here, don't miss the breathtaking views on the roof. Mt. Fuji on one side and Lake Kawaguchi on the other. The weekend we stayed, there was a firework show and it was so neat to be so close (like better than Tokyo Disneyland fireworks). It's rare that I would stay at the same place more than once, but would def come back again.

isappointing Room Service. The server was sneezing and had her mask hanging below her nose and constantly touched her mask while serving food. She did not once sanitize her hand after touching the mask. To avoid getting sick, we decided to open 2 doors to provide airflow. The server attempted to close one of the glass doors so I asked her not to close it. She explained that the flames of the hot pot will blow out. I insisted that the doors remain open. We were more concerned for our health than the flames blowing out. There were at least 3-4 dishes that required flames and none of them had blown out while in use. Regardless of the guest's suggestions to keep the doors open, she decides to ignore our suggestion and closed the 2nd door of the 2nd room. I would like the management to speak to their staff and remind them that they are not the ones staying in the room. The guest paid for the room and traveled really far to be there and staff should respect their space during their stay. Also, our room was right next to a pantry where the kitchen was loud and constantly clinging to glass etcetera. Staffs that are sick should stay home and not spread diseases in the hotel. Also the breakfast hall was a total nightmare 9 screaming and crying babies. It is simply not relaxing. Dining halls and foot spas should have different hours for children traveling with adults. There are adults and or couples traveling here. Waste of time and money.

More than we ever expected! Everything was thought out, ameneties are provided (toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, q-tips, wipes, skin care, etc) Breakfast was safe as a person with peanut/nut allergies, every allergen is identified, made life easier. Staff is so kind and nice. They held out luggage after checking out. We took a free shuttle offered by the hotel to get to Kawaguchiko station. Very helpful,

The location on the lake was excellent and the unit was absolutely gorgeous. Dinner service was delicious and our server was helpful and informative. Once in a lifetime experience!
